Kai-Hsin Lin was graduated from College of Medicine at National Taiwan University. He finished his fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at UCLA HOSPITAL & CLINICS, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. Professor Lin also took Master degree in Health Policy and Management Institute, College of Public Health at National Taiwan University in 2010.  

Professor Lin has expertise in the fields of pediatric hematology, after his training at UCLA in 1982-1983 on the topic of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), he established the HSCT program for patients with hematologic, immunologic, neoplastic, and genetic disorders in Taiwan in 1984. During the same time, Professor Lin performed the first successful bone marrow transplantation for a child with thalassemia major in Taiwan, and designed the first protocol for Taiwan Pediatric Oncology Group (TPOG) to treat childhood leukemia in 1988. He also successfully conducted the first cord blood transplantation in Taiwan in 1995. His major interests are: hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for pediatric hematology, immunologic &  genetic disorders and the studies of epidemiology and molecular defects of β-thalassemia in Taiwan.


Currently, he is teaching medical students and pediatric residents in College of Medicine at National Taiwan University. He is also the President of Taiwan Thalassemia Association. Professor Lin is enthusiastic about participating in a variety of medical academic activities and public interest groups to put all his efforts to contribute more for patients. Hopefully, Professor Lin will lead more positive research results that can further improve patients’ health and quality of life in the future.
