Dr. Tai’s research focuses on the pathophysiology of movement disorders and the mechanism of electrical therapy for various brain disorders. In hospital, we perform deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy to treat Parkinson’s disease (PD) and various movement disorders (eg, dystonia and tremor) in human patients on regular basis. In laboratory, we do electrophysiological and behavioral experiments on animal model of PD and other movement disorders, in order to further elucidate the underlying mechanism of DBS therapy and to develop future neuromodulation therapies for various brain disorders.
