The research interest in our laboratory is focused on the molecular mechanisms in T cell activation and apoptosis, as well as role of the signaling pathways in autoimmune disease and immune-mediated tissue damage. We are currently focused on the following directions

1. Molecular mechanisms in T cell activation, in particular, costimulation signaing; and role of the T cell activation signaling pathways in the pathogenesis human autoimmune diseases.

2. Molecular mechanisms in controlling of cellular apoptosis and role of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily molecules in immune pathogenesis of tissue damage during microbial infection via modulation of apoptosis.

3. Induction of innate immune responses in Helicobacter pylori infection and immune pathogenesis of Helicobacter gastritis.
