Research Outline     

I am the Distinguished Professor of the National Taiwan University, and the Professor of the Graduate Institutes of Medicine, Institute of Molecular Medicine, and Graduate Institute of Preventive Medicine at the National Taiwan University. My expertise is in the pathophysiology and molecular genetics of insulin resistance, obesity, hypertension and type 2 diabetes, and my studies have extended to all associated disorders, including dyslipidemia, renal, and cardiovascular diseases. I participate in a number of multi-site and multi-ethnic studies, including the SAPPHIRe (Study of Asian-Pacific Program for Hypertension and Insulin Resistance) Family Study (for which I serve as Co-PI of the National Taiwan University Hospital), the GENESIS (GENEticS of Insulin Sensitivity) study (for which I serve as Co-PI of the National Taiwan University Hospital), Tai-Chi genetic consortia, NAVIGATOR and TECOS clinical trials.
