Initiate Your Account

The NTU Library will create ORCID and NTU Academic Hub accounts for the faculty members. After that, you’ll receive a verification email from ORCID. Click on the link in the email to verify your email address within 10 days.


Please set ORCID privacy setting to public to sync your publications list to NTU Academic Hub.

Set ORCID Privacy Preferences to public in ACCOUNT SETTINGS.

  1. If you have already had an ORCID iD, please provide ORCID iD to subject librarian. We’ll help you initiate your NTU Academic Hub account.
  2. The NTU Academic Hub uses the same account / password with that of ORCID.
  3. The faculty profiles are uploaded on NTU Academic Hub. You can login and edit your profile.

Add Works On ORCID Website

Log into ORCID. In ORCID, You can import and manage your research outputs in your “Biography” page of your ORCID record. There are three ways to import your works. 

  1. Import from other Databases. (This it the recommended process)
  2. Import from a BibTeX file of your works
  3. Manually type the bibliographic information about your works

  • Link Works from Databases to ORCID

    In ORCID, You can import publications from some bibliographic databases. The choice of databases could be done according to your subject area. As for publications in Chinese in all subject areas, you could import your works from Airiti Library. For publications in western language and subject areas in Sciences, Engineering, Bio-Resources & Agriculture, etc., it is recommended to import form Scopus to your ORCID record. You can also choose other databases such as CrossRef Metadata Search, ResearcherID to import publications in western language. 

    The import procedures from several frequently-used databases will be shown in the following sections. (Note: Registering a personal account of corresponding database will be required.)


    Import from Airiti for works in Chinese, including journal papers, conference papers, and dissertations etc..

    1. Click “Authorize” button for permission to Airiti to access ORCID record.

    2. Sign in Airiti. You have to register an Airiti account. If you have already had one, use it to sign in.

    3. Airiti will search automatically and show your possible publications. Please select and confirm your publications.

    4. Reconfirm the publication list and click the button to sent to ORCID.

    5. Finish and sign out.

    Scopus to ORCID

    Import publications from Scopus to ORCID.

    1. Click “Authorize” button for permission to Scopus to access ORCID record.

    2. Select your Scopus profiles

    3. Select the preferred profile name

    4. Review your authored publications. If there were publications not authored by you, you can remove them from your profile.

    You can click “Search for missing documents” button and follow the instructions to add missing documents to the publication list.

    5. Review the Scopus profile to ensure that the data to be sent to ORCID is correct.  

    6. Type your email and click “Send Author ID” button.

    7. Click “Send my publication list” button.

    8. Scopus documents submitted and finished.

    CrossRef Metadata Search

    Import publications from CrossRef to ORCID. (CrossRef is a not-for-profit membership organization. They collect metadata from all participating publishers in the world. It is recommended when searching for individual works to add by DOI.)

    1. Click “Authorize” button for permission to CrossRef to access ORCID record

    2. Type your name or article title to search

    3. Confirm your publication and click “ADD TO ORCID” button.

    If articles were already existed in your ORCID works list, it will show “IN YOUR RECORD”.


    Import with the ResearcherID account. (ResearcherID identifier is specific to Thomson Reuters. It enables users to export and manage works list from Web of Science. If you have a profile at ResearcherID, you can link works from it to your ORCID record, or send information from ORCID to ResearcherID.)

    1. Click “Authorize” button for permission to CrossRef to access ORCID record.

    2. Login with your ResearcherID or Email address. If you don’t yet have a ResearcherID, you could register one in their official website.

    3. Click “Yes” to associate your ORCID record with your ResearcherID account.

    4. Select “Send ResearcherID publications to my ORCID account” item.

    If you would like others to find your publications by ORCID iD in Web of Science, you should set your profile in ReseacherID as “Public” on their “Manage Profile” page, and manage your publication list in the “My Publications” page. It will work after the Web of Science updates the data (after 14 days).

    5. Select and confirm the publication list, and then send to ORCID

  • Importing publications in BibTex

    In ORCID, you can import your publications with BibTeX files by the “Import BibTex” function under the “Add works” menu. (BibTeX is a platform-independent, plain-text format used for bibliographic citations. You can export your publications in BibTeX format from EndNote or Google Scholar, as illustrated below.)

    Exporting BibTeX Files from EndNote

    1. Manage your publications in Endnote.

    2. Select “Export” in EndNote toolbar.

    Or from the File menu, select Export.

    3. Select the “BibTex_Export” from the “Output Style” menu.

    ※ For the steps of importing BibTex file to ORCID, please refer to the section of"Importing the BibTex File to your ORCID”

    How to import conference paper to ORCID ?

    Please edit "bibTeX export" and add "conference paper". And then copy the following content and past to the template .

    |journal={Conference Name}

    Exporting BibTeX Files from Google scholar

    1. Sign in with your Google Scholar account and click “My Citations” button. 

    2. If you have a google scholar citations profile, select articles to export by clicking the checkbox beside each article. Click the Export button, then choose BibTex. Click the Save button to save the file to your computer.

    【Attention】Remember the path of saved file

    ※ For the steps of importing BibTeX file to ORCID, please see the section of Importing the BibTex File to your ORCID.

    Importing BibTeX Files into ORCID

    1. Log into ORCID. In Works section, select “Add works” → “Import BibTeX”.

    2. Click Choose File. Select a BibTeX (.bib) file from your computer and click open.

    3. Save the result to your record by clicking the “Save all” icon.

    【Attention】There’s differences in the list of each article’s content when importing from BibTeX Files and from databases. For those from outside databases, there are DOI and URL in each record with link to its full text articles. The “Source” field shows the imported database. For files from BibTeX, if there was no DOI in the file, it can't access the full text article. The “Source” field will show the name of the importer (author).

  • Add Publications Manually

    In ORCID, you can manually add your works one by one by the “Add Work Manually” function under the” Add works” menu. Several required information related to the work is needed to fill in as follows.

    1. Select a category of your work (required)

    2. Select the “Work Type” of your work (required)

    3. Enter the details of your work (required)

    4. Select citation Type (optional)

    5. Enter other work identifiers (optional)

  • Auto Update

    CrossRef, the organization that create DOIs, will let you know when they have a work with your ORCID iD included and request your permission to add that work to your ORCID record. Your work will only be added once you've granted the organization permission to do so. 

    To grant permission, you first have to receive a notification which includes information about what works they want to add, a button to Grant permission for the works to be added, and a link to Archive the notification without granting permission. 

    1. When you click on the "Grant permissions" button you will be taken to a page to authorize the connection and let the member post the work to your record. If you grant the organization ongoing permission, they will be able to add future items they receive with your ORCID iD without needing to get your permission again. 
    2. If you do not want to grant permission, click on the "Archive without granting permissions" link.

    Note: Notification can be seen on your ORCID record as the Inbox tab at the top of the record.

Sync Publications To NTU Academic Hub

Sync from ORCID Manually

Login AH with your ORCID account and password.

1. Click “Publications”→”ORCID import”→”Authorize”

2. Click “Done” button to import publication list from ORCID to AH

3. Close the dialog box and finish.

4. Click your profile page in AH again after imported, You’ll see the updated publication list. 

If you would like to maintain your publication list, please go to official ORCID website, and follow the steps in “ADD WORKS ON ORCID WEBSITE “ and “SYNC PUBLICATIONS TO NTU ACADEMIC HUB”.

【Attention】You need to set ORCID privacy setting to public to sync your publications list to NTU Academic Hub.

Enable auto-update from ORCID

Login AH with your ORCID account and password.

1. Click “Publications”→”Enable auto-update from ORCID” 
     to give permission for ORCID to auto-update your publication lists of AH record.
    Once you add publications in your ORCID record, your AH record will be updated automatically.

2. Click “Disable auto-update from ORCID” button to revoke permissions to auto-update publication list from ORCID.


Grant access to a trusted individual

To grant access to a trusted individual (delegate) go to the Account Setting tab when you are logged into your ORCID record.

2. Under Account Settings, scroll down to the Trusted individuals section. In the search box, enter the ORCID iD, e-mail address, or name of the person you want to make a trusted individual then click search.

3. If you enter an email address or ORCID iD, a pop-up box will ask you to confirm adding that user as a trusted individual, click Add. A user must have an ORCID iD before you can make them a trusted individual. If you search for a trusted individual by name, a list of matching ORCID records will be listed. Click on the Add button next to the name of the user you wish to make a trusted individual, or click on the user's name to be taken to their ORCID record.

4. After you have added a trusted individual to your ORCID record, their name and ORCID iD will appear under the Trusted Individual section. To remove a trusted individual from your account click the trash can icon next to the person you wish to remove.

5. Once a user have been added as a trusted individual, he will see an additional option when he log into his own ORCID Record. Under his name he will see the heading Switch account. 

Clicking on Switch account will list the records that he may manage. 

Once he have selected an account to manage from the Switch account menu, he will be taken to that user's ORCID record, where he can make changes to the record in the same way he would on his own account. 

Update and modify your profile

For NTU faculty members, you can log into AH and maintain your personal profile. If you forgot password, please refer to ORCID.

You can edit your profile in AH, including personal information, photo, education and employment, research outline, publications, projects, lab, activities, etc.

* Change photo: It’s recommended to crop the photo to square (300*300 pixels at least)
